Hayley O’Hara

CLINIC DIRECTOR | REGISTERED PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Hayley is a Registered Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist and Certified Yoga Instructor on a mission to transform the practice of Pelvic Health by blending Pelvic Floor Therapy, Yoga, and wellness. Her passion for women and family health led to founding Higher State Health and Wellness Club, where she currently practices, teaches, and operates as Clinical Director.

Erin Mckinnon

PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Erin is a St. John’s native and holds a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University and an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology from Memorial University. With a background in competitive soccer, Erin specializes in working with athletes to enhance performance and fitness. She finds the most inspiring part of her work to be the direct impact she has on patients’ lives, guiding them on their recovery journey and helping them return to doing what they love.

Dr. Allison Noseworthy

CHIROPRACTOR

Originally from St. John’s, Allison moved to Barrie, Ontario in 1999 to train at the Mariposa School of Figure Skating. After experiencing a series of injuries, she became deeply curious about how the body heals, a path that led her to chiropractic care.

She earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, graduating with clinical honours and Dean’s List recognition. Allison is also certified in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture, the Graston Technique, and Level 2 Pilates Reformer, with additional training in a range of soft tissue techniques.

For the past 12 years, she’s worked in a collaborative, patient-centered clinic, helping people of all ages thrive in movement and recovery.

Helen Laracy

LICENSED ACUPUNCTURIST

Helen is a licensed acupuncturist with a deep passion for integrative health and holistic wellness. Her path into Traditional Chinese Medicine began with a background in the fitness and wellness industry, supported by a diploma in Health, Wellness, and Recreation. She later completed a three-year diploma in Acupuncture and TCM in Bedford, Nova Scotia, and also became a Registered Yoga Teacher, drawing inspiration from the mind-body connection and the healing power of movement and breath.

Helen specializes in Cosmetic Acupuncture, a natural method that enhances skin health, softens fine lines, and supports graceful aging while also addressing internal imbalances. Clients often notice not only a visible glow but also improvements in sleep, digestion, stress, and overall well-being.

Nick Rowsell

REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPIST

Nick is a skilled Registered Massage Therapist with a passion for helping clients regain mobility and find relief from chronic pain. Specializing in deep pressure techniques, chronic pain management, and neck treatments, Nick is dedicated to providing personalized care that supports both physical and emotional well-being. With a strong background in competitive sports and a commitment to ongoing learning, he combines his expertise and passion for healing to help clients feel their best. Nick is excited to bring his skills to Higher State and looks forward to supporting clients on their wellness journeys.

Jennifer Murley

RMT

Jennifer graduated in 2009 from ICT Northumberland College in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A member in good standing with NLMTA and CMTNL. In her 15+ years as a Registered Massage Therapist, she has treated a wide variety of ailments with great success. Soft tissue injuries, sore muscles, whiplash, TMJ, pregnancy related discomfort, myofascial trigger points, headaches and more. Making a difference in the quality of people lives is what she enjoys most about her job. We sometimes forget how good our body is meant to feel!

Drake Logan

YOGA INSTRUCTOR

Drake is a certified yoga instructor with a rich background in movement, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. Originally from Nova Scotia, he moved to Newfoundland in 2015 for Paramedic school and is now in his third year of a Nursing degree. These days, you’ll also find him working behind the scenes in film and TV as a set medic.

He completed his 200-hour Vinyasa training with Ryan Leier & One Yoga, and has gone on to study Vinyasa-Krama, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, Myofascial Release, and Spa Flow. Drake’s classes are grounded, creative, and accessible; blending functional movement, deep rest, and a strong focus on nervous system support. His approach is all about meeting people where they’re at and helping them move with more ease, awareness, and connection.

Sierra Jackson

PILATES INSTRUCTOR

Sierra is passionate about helping clients build strength, confidence, and mindfulness through Pilates. Originally from St. John’s, she discovered the transformative power of movement firsthand and now shares that experience with others. Specializing in mat Pilates, Sierra focuses on creating accessible and enjoyable sessions for all fitness levels. When she’s not on the mat, she’s indulging her creative side through design, thrifting, and home projects—or unwinding with a good book and a seasonal latte.

Maggie Butler

YOGA INSTRUCTOR

Maggie is a certified yoga teacher and space holder with a focus on mindful movement, self-connection, and creative sequencing. At the heart of her teaching is a desire to share the power of yoga in a way that feels accessible and grounding for all. Her Vinyasa classes offer a blend of dynamic flow, deep stretch, and breath connection—leaving students feeling grounded, recharged, and glowing from the inside out. She completed her 200-hour certification in Vinyasa and Hatha yoga, and has continued her education in Yin yoga, mindfulness, and the art of intelligent sequencing. Her classes are designed with intention and soul—balancing movement and stillness, strength and softness, structure and flow.

Miranda MacDonald

BARRE INSTRUCTOR

Miranda started her career in musical theatre after graduating from Sheridan College, performing across Canada while teaching voice and working with young performers.

In 2018, she returned home and began teaching barre, sparking a love for fitness that led her to become a certified personal trainer, Pilates instructor, and Senior Fitness Specialist.

With a passion for functional movement, Miranda blends her background in the arts with strength and mobility training to help clients move with confidence—on stage and in everyday life.

Carly Wallwork

ACTIVE BREATHWORK FACILITATOR

Carly (she/her) is a Breathwork Facilitator and Canadian Certified Counsellor who believes all individuals deserve the space to get in touch with their inner wisdom to unlock healing and self-discovery. Introduced to active breathwork in 2024, Carly was instantly in awe of the transformative practice; which quickly became a component of her personal healing journey. Its resonance was the catalyst to pursue a breathwork training, in hopes to offer it to the Newfoundland and Labrador community. Carly believes in the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits of active breathwork, and she’s honoured to hold space for you in your practice. Carly hopes breathwork gives you an opportunity to feel connected to your breath, body, and beyond.
